Who Gets What

Both parties, with help from their attorneys, will have to decide how to divide the marital assets.

Identifying all of the assets is the first step.  In addition to the marital home, such things as 401K plans, retirement benefits, stock options, other property, checking and savings accounts, need to be documented.  Questions about spousal maintenance (alimony) and child support will also have to be determined.

A financial professional can help locate and identify these assets and work with your attorney to make sure all property is divided equitably.
He can help you map out your financial strategy, advise you of tax consequences and help you plan your future and that of your children.
