ROY H. KRAMER,

Roy Kramer, a Member of Brown Smith Wallace in the Litigation & Valuation Services Group, specializes in divorce planning. To better serve this growing niche, Roy was the first CPA in Missouri to also achieve the designations of Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and Certified Divorce Specialist.
Recognized as an expert in taxation related to marital dissolutions, Roy regularly consults with divorcing couples and their attorneys regarding complex tax issues and the financial ramifications associated with divorce settlements. These financial issues include:
• Tax issues when valuing and dividing property
• Maintenance and child support issues
• Discovery of potential hidden assets
• Separate vs. Marital property
• Retirement and pension plan valuations
• Cash flow budgeting
In his role, Roy also works with attorneys to develop creative financially equitable settlements for clients and frequently serves as an expert witness in dissolution matters.
With more than 20 years of experience working with national and local CPA firms, Roy also provides businesses, nonprofits, families and individuals with tax planning and compliance, business consulting and personal financial planning services.
Away from the office, Roy spends his time writing and speaking. As a frequent and energetic lecturer, he shares his unique industry knowledge on both divorce planning and tax-related issues at conferences, and in the classroom. In addition, Roy has authored numerous published articles addressing various accounting and divorce planning topics.
Roy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of CPAs. In the community, Roy is currently involved with:
• Kids in the Middle, Board of Directors, Treasurer
• Hot City Theater, Board of Directors
As a result of his active community service and board participation, Roy was previously recognized as the “Who’s Who of Emerging Business Leaders in the Midwest.”
